To Margaret, from Joy
'Come to Brittany' (2003)
Thro' the mist of early morning St. Malo comes into sight. Our holiday has started - will the weather be alright? We follow our map and very soon the port is far behind, the countryside is all around and the sun begins to shine. Later on the signs say we are nearly there - over a bridge, a railway line, now lots of bends - take care. Through a farm yard, down a lane - is the farmhouse really here? Drive on looking round - it must be very near. Then Roc'h ar Hed comes into view, inside is all we need with a real farmhouse kitchen & a lounge with lots to read. Upstairs the rooms are charming, from the windows much to see. For a restful beautiful holiday this is the place for me.

Thanks for an excellent holiday in a fantastic house
Things to do:
Beaches: Excellent family beach at Les Sables des Blancs.Tregastel offers loads of beaches.
Days out : Puerros Guerrioc-shopping,food,beaches,marina,boating lake for kids
Brest/Oceanopolis(1 hour drive)- excellent massive aquarium for a rainy day treat
Tregastel/Trebeuden-excellent beaches,aquarium,coastal walks
Ploumenach-fantastic coastal path amongst the weird pink granite rocks(remember your camera)
Morlaix :Wednesday night for entertainment.Park by port & walk in (5 mins)
Lannion :good shops
Markets : list in kitchen but Plestin on Sunday is good & local(get there by 10am: same as everywhere really)
n.b.Be aware when driving you can get long queues when it's wet, especially lunchtime/teatime arond the popular towns.
Lannion is a nightmare in the rush hour as it's a bottleneck with bridges over the river (try and avoid passing through on market day)
Have fun & hope you enjoyed as much as we did
