Bakers:- The nearest is in the village of Plufur, which is 2 km from the house. It opens at 08.30 weekdays and 0845 on Sundays. (Croissants are available daily in the high season, otherwise Sundays only). There are two excellent boulangerie in Plestin les Greves and another in Guerlsquin, both towns @ 9 km. Further down the road at Lanvellec there is another boulangerie.

Mini-Markets:- One is combined with a bar in Plufur, the other is 1 km away at Plounerin la Gare. This one has a cave.

Super Markets:- There is a Super-U in Plestin les Greves, which is very good, one can also get discount petrol here. It is easily found, you turn left by the church, at the junction with the main road turn right.

Hyper-Markets:- The largest is in Morlaix, the Geant, leave the N12 at the Roscoff exit, at the roundabout head back towards St. Brieuc, but take the first right at the next roundabout. There is a Le Clerc well signposted from the N12, as you approach Morlaix. These two Hyper Markets have branches in Lannion on the road to Perros Guirec. Good wine can be bought in the ‘Le Clerc’ in Lannion.

Street Markets:- There is one every day of the week, the largest is at Morlaix on a Saturday. Lannion's is on a Thursday and Plestin les Greves has a very good one on a Sunday.

Beaches:- The nearest, and the best one is on the Cornich at Plestin les Greves, about 11 km away. There are many other lovely beaches within a 35 minute drive.

Golf:- The 9-hole par 34 golf course at Begard welcomes visitors (English spoken) and is open all year. Some Places of Interest

Morlaix: A town full of old timbered buildings, narrow allies, a busy marina, good restaurants and a very good shopping center.

Lannion: The center of the Cote D'Armour, the principal holiday area in this part of Brittany. Another historic town which has many attractive features.

Perros Guirec: The principal town on the Cote de Granit Rose. There are many excellent beaches with all the facilities you expect at a top class holiday resort.

Tregastel: Also on the Cote de Cranit Rose with a picturesque harbour. There is a heated saltwater indoor swimming pool and an aquarium in the town.

Ploulec'h: There is a very scenic coastal walk from here, with many fantastic rock formations, En route you pass a lighthouse, museum and a lifeboat station. On the beach there is a famous statue. The story is, that if a maiden can stick a pin her nose, she will be married within the year.

Treguier: A cathedral city, again with many old buildings, a port and the center for many interesting and picturesque towns and beaches.

Ruelgoat: A very attractive small town in the center of a National Park, less than an hours drive away form Plufur. The town has a large lake and a riverside walk with many huge rock formations. It is surrounded by forests and moorland and is close to many unique museums dealing with the cultural life of the area. It is also the center of the Breton King Arthur and the Round Table legend.

Day trips are possible to St. Malo, Mont St. Michael, Quimper, Douarnanez and many other cities and towns of special interest. But it will take months to exhaust the things to do and the places to explore, in the immediate area of the Cote D'Armour and Tregor.
